We are seeking an experienced Immigration Solicitor to join our Immigration team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a varied caseload of private client immigration matters within a rapidly expanding department. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, deliver excellent client service and support the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Communication
- Manage correspondence with clients, the Home Office and other relevant authorities in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear and practical legal advice.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in relation to client matters and firm information.
Case Management
- Manage a varied caseload of private client immigration matters from instruction through to completion.
- Advise clients on a range of immigration and nationality applications and procedures.
- Ensure all matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date file records and case management systems.
Applications & Drafting
- Prepare and submit high-quality immigration and nationality applications.
- Draft application forms, legal representations, supporting statements and correspondence.
- Prepare document bundles and supporting evidence in line with Home Office requirements.
- Conduct legal research where required and keep up to date with developments in immigration law.
Meetings
- Conduct client meetings and consultations, both remotely and in person.
- Attend meetings with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate attendance notes and records of advice provided.
Business Development
- Support the firm’s business development and marketing activities.
- Attend networking events and contribute to articles, publications and other promotional initiatives.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with referrers and other stakeholders.
Professional Standards
- Support colleagues during periods of absence and elevate complex matters where appropriate.
- Adhere to all firm policies and procedures, including anti-money laundering, KYC, file opening, complaints handling and accounts procedures.
- Ensure files are managed in accordance with regulatory and professional obligations.
Training & Development
- Participate in training and development activities as required.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior team members where appropriate.
- Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with 1-3 years’ PQE, including in immigration law
- Experience advising on a range of immigration and nationality matters, including visa applications, settlement and citizenship applications.
- Strong drafting and case management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
- Fluency in a second language.
