Gherson Solicitors is currently seeking to recruit a Solicitor with around 8-10 years of post-qualification experience to join our expanding Dispute Resolution Team, which focuses on complex and high-value litigation and arbitration, often with an international element, including cases with a sanctions-related component. We would like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following: 8-10 years of post-qualification experience in a mid/top-market (London or regional) or City disputes resolution practice (or practices), focusing predominantly or solely on civil matters concerning high-value and/ or complex corporate, commercial and financial disputes in the Senior Courts/ UKSC or in international arbitral fora. A strong grasp of the CPR and the Commercial Court Guide, A proven track record of working on complex civil litigation and/or arbitration/international arbitration across their career to date. An ability to handle their own caseload (with supervision), as well as assist on larger matters. The ideal candidate would also have experience in one or more of the following: Investor State Arbitration International Arbitration Civil fraud Cross-border disputes and/ or the conflict of laws Sanctions and white-collar crime/ investigations matters Conducting litigation in the High Courts Personal finance/ banking matters for high net worth and/ or ultra-high net worth individuals The skills required for this role will include: Ability to work to deadlines/targets, prioritise and manage a caseload and deliver effective solutions. Ability to push your caseload forward with initiative and minimal supervision Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative with a positive attitude. A commercial, solution-driven, and client-focused approach. Strong legal and analytical skills with an eye for detail. Excellent organisation and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent IT skills and effective use of Case Management and Time Recording Systems. Professional and effective communication with individual and business contacts, with opponents, experts and with the court. The candidate must have an excellent (and demonstrable) drafting ability as well as a true commitment to achieving the very best outcome in some of the most difficult circumstances.
