We would like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in a top-market/boutique City disputes resolution practice (or practices), focusing predominantly or solely on civil matters concerning high-value and/or complex corporate, commercial and financial disputes.
  • A strong grasp of the CPR and the Commercial Court Guide, as well as the CE-File system.
  • A proven track record of working on complex civil litigation across their career to date.
  • An ability to handle their own caseload for less complex cases, as well as assist on larger matters.
  • Management of junior team members and ability to progress cases independently.

The ideal candidate would also have experience in some of the following:

  • Sanctions and white-collar crime/investigations matters.
  • Matters for high net worth and/or ultra-high net worth individuals.

The skills required for this role will include:

  • Ability to work to deadlines/targets, prioritise and manage a caseload and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative with a positive attitude.
  • A commercial, solution-driven, and client-focused approach.
  • Strong legal and analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and effective use of Case Management and Time Recording Systems.
  • Professional and effective communication with individual and business contacts, with opponents, experts and with the court.

The candidate must have an excellent (and demonstrable) drafting ability as well as a true commitment to achieving the very best outcome in some of the most difficult circumstances.

At Gherson, we value bright, eloquent and highly driven individuals.
