Gherson Solicitors is currently seeking to recruit a Civil Litigation Solicitor or employed barrister with around 2-5 years of post-qualification experience to join our expanding Dispute Resolution Team, which focuses on complex and high-value litigation and arbitration, including cases with a sanctions-related component.
We would like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in a top-market/boutique City disputes resolution practice (or practices), focusing predominantly or solely on civil matters concerning high-value and/or complex corporate, commercial and financial disputes.
- A strong grasp of the CPR and the Commercial Court Guide, as well as the CE-File system.
- A proven track record of working on complex civil litigation across their career to date.
- An ability to handle their own caseload for less complex cases, as well as assist on larger matters.
- Management of junior team members and ability to progress cases independently.
The ideal candidate would also have experience in some of the following:
- Cross-border disputes and/or the conflict of laws.
- Sanctions and white-collar crime/investigations matters.
- Matters for high net worth and/or ultra-high net worth individuals.

- Ability to work to deadlines/targets, prioritise and manage a caseload and deliver effective solutions.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative with a positive attitude.
- A commercial, solution-driven, and client-focused approach.
- Strong legal and analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills and effective use of Case Management and Time Recording Systems.
- Professional and effective communication with individual and business contacts, with opponents, experts and with the court.
