This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside the Design and Technical teams in creation of concept ideas - generating designs and prototypes for evaluation.
- Help develop product concepts, integrating technical designs and constraints.
- Assist in user research, generating ideas fed from user / market insights.
- Attend NPD workshops and weekly meetings with the R&D, Marketing and Operations team.
- Understand technical constraints when creating designs for our product range.
- Have a working understanding of manufacturing processes (DFM / DFA).
- Work with suppliers to communicate design intent and manage cost and time constraints.
- Review and manage budgets associated with Design development (rapid prototypes / POP models etc.).
- Work within the Design and Engineering team to uphold brand intent and realise concept visions.
- Creation of on-product graphics including brand-marking, regulatory labels - layouts / and 2D artworks for global ratings labels.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience.
- Degree educated with experience working in a design consultancy or consumer products company.
- Proficient in 3D CAD – SolidWorks (Including complex surfacing).
- Capable of interpreting briefs and communicating ideas quickly with fluent and confident hand sketching skills.
- UX / ergonomics insight experience and translation into product concepts.
- Must have a sound knowledge of 2D Design packages - particularly the Adobe Suite.
- Ability to create high quality visualisations - Keyshot / Cinema 4D.
- Confident to work with and manage external suppliers.
- Self-motivated team player, with a positive and proactive approach.
- Ability to mentor junior members of the Design team.
