This role owns the end-to-end e Commerce P&L, strategy and performance across EMEA & APAC, defining how ghd wins across digital channels including DTC, Amazon and key pure play partners.
Operating at the intersection of Marketing and Commercial, the Senior Director e Commerce ensures a seamless connection between brand demand generation, customer experience and online conversion, delivering profitable, scalable growth across all online channels.
With a particular focus on Amazon as a core strategic growth engine, this role leads EU4 Joint Business Planning and negotiations, defines the regional Amazon strategy, and builds a strong, aligned partnership with Amazon at a European level.
This is a critical leadership role within the region, accountable for building best-in-class e Commerce capabilities, defining the operating model across markets, and delivering consistent, high-performance execution at scale.
LOCATION
This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
- JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own full e Commerce P&L across EMEA & APAC, including revenue, margin and profitability across DTC, Amazon and SEP channels
- Define and deliver the regional e Commerce growth strategy, aligned to overall business priorities
- Set and drive ambitious performance targets across all online channels and markets
- Lead forecasting, performance tracking and delivery against financial commitments
- Amazon Leadership (Strategic Priority)
- Define and deliver Amazon as a core strategic growth engine across the region
- Lead EU4 Joint Business Planning (JBP) and negotiation strategy, including commercial terms, investment frameworks and growth commitments
- Own the Amazon P&L, including sell-in, sell-out, marketing investment and profitability
- Build and manage senior relationships with Amazon European leadership teams
- Drive alignment across markets to ensure a consistent and optimised Amazon operating model
- Lead key commercial moments (Prime, Peak, launches) with clear investment and execution strategies
- Define the channel role and strategy across DTC, Amazon and pure play partners
- Drive growth across strategic partners (e. g. Zalando, Notino) through clear commercial frameworks and operating models
- Partner with Commercial teams to ensure alignment on account strategy and distribution priorities
- Identify and scale pan-regional opportunities across online partners
- Consumer Experience & Conversion Excellence
- Own the end-to-end digital consumer funnel: traffic, conversion, AOV and retention
- Partner with Marketing to ensure media and brand investment translates into online performance
- Drive best-in-class digital experience and content execution across all platforms
- Champion a data-led approach to optimisation, including CRO, trading and campaign performance
- Market Leadership & Performance Governance
- Lead and hold markets accountable for e Commerce performance delivery
- Define clear KPIs, scorecards and performance frameworks across all channels
- Establish strong governance through regular performance reviews and action planning
- Identify risks and opportunities, ensuring rapid response and course correction
- Capability & Operating Model
- Define and implement the e Commerce operating model across EMEA & APAC
- Build and scale best-in-class e Commerce and Amazon capabilities across markets
- Establish clear minimum standards of execution across all countries
- Identify capability gaps and lead talent, structure and capability development plans
- Create a strong regional e Commerce community, driving alignment, sharing and continuous improvement
- Cross-functional Leadership
- Act as the key e Commerce leader partnering with Marketing, Commercial, Supply Chain and Global teams
- Ensure alignment between brand strategy, commercial priorities and digital execution
- Represent e Commerce agenda in regional leadership forums, including CEO / Man Com discussions
REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive experience in senior e Commerce leadership roles, with multi-country responsibility
- Proven track record of delivering high-growth e Commerce P&L performance
- Deep expertise in Amazon across EMEA, including negotiations and Joint Business Planning
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate data into clear strategic decisions
- Experience operating across DTC and marketplace ecosystems
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, cross-functional teams
- Experience in beauty, consumer goods or premium durable categories preferred
