As a Project Engineer at ghd, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex products in a dynamic and collaborative environment. We are seeking a proactive and inquisitive individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across disciplines to ensure the success of our projects.

This role will be based in our Cambridge office.

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Skills: Utilise hands-on skills to build, test, and troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Inquisitive and Questioning: Demonstrate curiosity and the ability to ask critical questions to ensure a deep understanding of project requirements.
  • Separation of Concerns and System Decomposition: Break down complex systems into manageable components, ensuring clear separation of concerns and facilitating efficient system design.
  • Designing Experiments to Isolate Root Cause: Develop testing strategies and protocols to isolate root causes of system issues and drive effective problem resolution.
  • Understanding Data: Analyse and interpret data to make informed decisions and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Requirements & DFMEA: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and perform Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential risks and weaknesses in the system.
  • CAD & Modelling: Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and modelling tools to create detailed system designs and prototypes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a design and technology company or high-end electronic consumer products company.
  • Experience with electronics based products would be desirable.
