Reporting to the Head of Sales - Premium Retail and Travel Retail, the role of National Sales & Operations Manager is to grow and develop the UK premium retail stores estate, through developing and planning effective, innovative, and ambitious commercial sales strategies and then leading to fruition across every retail location delivering solid revenue growth. With innovation and industry expertise youâll establish, develop, and communicate all aspects of the ghd proposition including brand and in-store standards, operating procedures and excellent customer service. This position will play an influential role in the development and expansion of the brand. âUK and Irelandâ is the largest and most developed market for ghd. It is a critical territory for the sustainability of the brand at a global level. Consequently, the National Sales Manager is a key stakeholder within the organisation who will inspire and lead their team to ensure the brandâs objectives are achieved and executed with excellence and leads best in class examples as a flagship market.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a 360 national sales strategy utilising space, eventing, resource optimization, demonstrations, sell out trading initiatives, excellence in visual merchandising amongst other levers to gain market share and drive revenue growth across all the UK and Ireland stores both staffed and unstaffed.
- Create, lead, and inspire a commercially led âpeople firstâ culture among a large national team, ensuring they are customer-focused and engaged with strategic direction for delivering ambitious revenue targets with excellence.
- Develop annual and monthly sales forecasts by door aligned with the brandâs total performance objectives.
- Set and implement a KPI obsession across the instore teams utilizing all performance driving KPIs (UPT, ATV, GtN, productivity) to deliver the business objectives.
- Set and drive the category transformation targets as per the business directive in the store environment.
- Manage the UK and Ireland T&E budgets ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee dayâtoâday store operations, ensuring efficient stock management processes in partnership with the Head Office sales team.
- Manage, coach, and develop regional sales teams to achieve performance targets.
- Oversee and direct the recruitment and talent progression for the field team, to ensure the best team for commercial success and budget optimization.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Implement consistent processes, policies, and performance frameworks in partnership with HR partners across all locations.
- Collaborate with finance, marketing, sales, and senior leadership to ensure crossâfunctional alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Lead store performance reporting, presenting performance insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with the Education team to develop & drive all areas of in-store training/education/new product launches/seminars to optimise the ghd experience for Premium Retail customers.
- Lead by example with store visits across the full region supporting recruitment and training across all doors.
- Plan, organise and run the national sales meetings with the wider field population both virtually and in person.
- Support on retailer training and eventing as an ambassador for the ghd brand.
REQUIREMENTS
- Commercially astute, driven by the development of the growth of the brand and gaining market share.
- In-depth understanding of business KPIs and how to utilise these to deliver results.
- Selfâmotivated, passionate, peopleâfocused individual with a positive, canâdo attitude and entrepreneurial approach.
- Extensive experience within a senior strategic retail position.
- Understanding of UK retail environment, in particular multiâbrand stores.
- Proven history of strategic business planning with outstanding sales achievements.
- Ability to present an air of gravitas with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate at the most senior levels of management.
- Experience in mentoring, developing, empowering, and leading exceptional, high performing teams.
- UK based with the ability to travel to UK/ROI without restrictions. Frequent stays away from home.
