Overview
In this role, you lead highway planning and design projects within GHD’s Ontario transportation team, guiding multi-disciplinary teams from proposal through close-out. You’ll drive technical leadership, client relationships, and business development, contributing to regional transportation outcomes. You’ll mentor staff and coordinate integrated solutions across engineering disciplines, delivering high-quality project outcomes. Responsibilities
- Lead highway planning and design projects for municipal clients
- Manage multi-disciplinary design teams for road and bridge projects
- Oversee project delivery from proposal to close-out including budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff
- Coordinate integration with other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality deliverables
- Manage staff performance, workload, and professional development
- Promote best practices and leadership in transportation projects
- Support business development including capture planning and leading proposals
- Contribute to business development strategy for MTO and related clients, including capture plans and client relationships
- Apply diverse transportation solutions (corridor planning, ITS, digital delivery, roundabout design)
Key requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering
- Ontario P.Eng. designation required (or eligible)
- 15+ years' experience in planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management
- Experience with Ministry of Transportation of Ontario
- Experience managing design projects in collaborative models (e.g., Progressive Design-Build, Alliance, CMGC) is an asset
