We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Consulting Engineer to join our growing UK Power team and deliver technically challenging projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career, applying specialist technical knowledge while also gaining exposure to consulting, client engagement and project leadership.
Your Role:
- As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of power sector projects and play a key role in technical problem-solving, client support and developing innovative solutions.
- Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and leading the delivery of electrical engineering projects across distribution and transmission systems.
- Producing and reviewing technical specifications, FEED and concept studies.
- Acting as Owner’s Engineer and providing technical advisory/due diligence support.
- Undertaking cable system design, substation design (grid and distribution), and equipment specification.
- Assisting with tendering, bids, and proposals, providing technical expertise.
- Supporting site-based activities, including FAT, SAT and commissioning.
- Helping to mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to team growth.
What You’ll Bring: Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a technically strong engineer with a desire to grow their career in consulting. You will have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc minimum; MEng/MSc desirable).
- Solid understanding of the UK electricity system and regulatory/stakeholder environment.
- Experience in the design, specification, construction, operation or maintenance of distribution and transmission level networks.
- Knowledge of key electrical equipment, such as: Gas and air insulated switchgear, transformers, harmonic filters, and reactive compensation equipment.
- Power cables (experience desirable).
- Power system protection and control (experience desirable).
- Previous project delivery experience (leading or co-ordinating tasks).
- Consulting experience (desirable, but not essential).
- Site experience (FAT, SAT, commissioning) – an advantage.
- Working towards or already holding Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with IET (or similar).
