The Global Product Manager sits at the heart of ghd's Global Marketing organisation, shaping the next generation of iconic beautyâtech and haircare innovations on a global scale. This role transforms deep consumer insights into visionary product experiences, working in close partnership with Insights, Education, and R&D to define the future of highâperformance hair beauty technology and accelerate ghd's global growth ambitions.
This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
Job Role & Responsibilities
- Lead ghd's new product development projects across key categories, guiding the frontâend innovation journey while working handâinâhand with the Global Brand team to build a strong foundation for successful market launches.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Insight Team to translate consumer needs and market opportunities into actionable innovation strategies.
- Champion the consumer perspective by shaping nextâgeneration product concepts that bridge insights, market trends, and R&D scienceâtranslating technical innovation into bold, accessible language, and collaborating with Marketing Intelligence to validate concepts through consumer testing worldwide.
- Partner crossâfunctionally with R&D, Project Management, Education, Design, Packaging, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain to shape every element of the product proposition, from claims and packaging to copy and financials.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to lead your category's NPD projects, partnering crossâfunctionally within the gate process to ensure deliverables are met on time and projects run seamlessly to agreed deadlines.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations to the management team and markets, channelling stakeholder input into clear decisions and strategic direction.
- Turn consumer data into actionable insight to shape strategic recommendations for your key categories and drive business decisions.
- Keep aware of emerging consumer behaviours, trends, and shifting category and market dynamics to uncover new growth spaces.
- Collaborate with Education and Marketing Insight by inputting into product testing sessions, helping to shape the questions, interpret results, and support a bold and ambitious claims development approach.
- Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain to evaluate new opportunities, build volume assumptions, and input into pricing strategies, ensuring decisions are in line with company's financial targets.
- Provide input into the strategic plan for product categories and take responsibility for executing the wider innovation roadmap.
Requirements
- At least 4 years' experience in a global marketing role or market brand marketing/category role.
- A genuine passion for the beauty industry and a deep curiosity about consumers and competitors.
- Consumerâled mindset with a genuine passion for the ghd brand, hair styling, and technology.
- Commercially and dataâdriven marketer able to translate insights into compelling sellâin stories and bold claims.
