The Role

In this role, you will contribute to advisory and consulting projects that help clients define strategy, plan investment, improve performance and develop practical pathways to decarbonisation. This is a client-facing delivery role suited to someone with clear experience in consulting, advisory, policy, infrastructure, energy, utilities, sustainability or a related field, who is looking to build sector depth, consulting skills and commercial confidence within a growing Energy Transition advisory team. You will support project delivery through research, analysis, stakeholder engagement and the preparation of high-quality client materials. Working alongside senior colleagues and technical specialists, you will help develop clear, evidence-based recommendations that support clients in navigating the commercial, regulatory, operational and delivery challenges of the UK energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support defined work packages across energy transition strategy, commercial advisory, decarbonisation planning and transformation.
  • Undertake research, analysis, benchmarking and stakeholder engagement to help develop clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Contribute to high-quality client deliverables, including reports, presentations, options assessments, business cases and implementation plans.
  • Support project management activities, including planning tasks, tracking progress, managing actions and contributing to quality control.
  • Work with client teams and internal specialists to gather insight, test findings and support practical implementation.
  • Contribute to proposals, market insight, capability development and knowledge sharing across the Commercial Advisory business.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across advisory, engineering, environment, digital and project delivery teams to support integrated solutions for clients.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Typically around 3–6 years’ relevant experience in consulting, advisory, strategy, policy, infrastructure, energy, utilities, sustainability or a related field.
  • Experience supporting client-facing projects, ideally within UK energy, infrastructure, utilities, public sector, regulated markets or asset-intensive organisations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and structured thinking skills, with the ability to turn information into clear insight.
  • An interest in the UK energy transition and the commercial, regulatory, operational and delivery issues shaping the sector.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to clear client-facing materials.
  • Confidence working with data, research, stakeholder input and qualitative evidence to support project findings.
  • A collaborative working style, curiosity, attention to detail and a practical mindset focused on client outcomes.
  • A willingness to learn from senior colleagues while taking ownership of tasks and contributing actively to project delivery.
