At GHD we are looking for a new Environmental Engineering Intern to join the EHS Compliance team at our Cincinnati, OH office. In this role you will research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

Role Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports by collecting data from standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Engineering Drawings: Carry out activities under senior guidance to create engineering drawings for communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to development and feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to validate the design.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow HSE policies, procedures, and instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks; instruct team in safe working methods; identify risky behaviors and take appropriate action.
  • Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities through assessment, development planning activities, formal and informal training, coaching, and ongoing education.
  • Research: Support others by carrying out research activities.
  • Testing: Develop testing standards and procedures under professional direction.
  • Project Management: Support project management activities.
  • Waste Management: Support waste management efforts, aiding in waste reduction programs, segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Conduct routine technical troubleshooting tasks including basic diagnostics and problem solving related to equipment and experiments.

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an Environmental Engineering or equivalent Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
  • Experience: General Experience: No experience required.
