Reporting to the Head of Category & Trade Marketing for the UK & Ireland, the Category Manager will be responsible for driving our growth via a product category strategy. By using data and insights, the Category Manager will determine the opportunity for ghd’s strategic priority categories, including the relevant category strategy required, optimum level of investment, the right distribution, and activations needed to reach maximum potential. The Category Manager will work cross functionally to bring to life the strategy across all commercial and marketing teams.

This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the entire performance and strategy of a product category (e.g., Stylers, Dryers, Wet to Dry).
  • Analyzes sales data, consumer insights, and market trends to optimize product mix and pricing.
  • Responsible for identifying customer targets within the category and educating internal teams on the opportunities for targeting.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to secure 360 support across channels to drive category performance in line with the category A+CP budget goals.
  • Ensures category profitability, growth, and alignment with the company’s broader marketing strategy.
  • Works closely with the Head of Category and Trade Marketing to upskill commercial and marketing teams ensuring understanding of category customer targets for all activations, promotions, and new product launches.
  • Ability to challenge and hold all teams accountable for performance to meet overarching business objectives and the defined category roadmap.
  • Works with commercial and customer teams to make ranging and differentiation plans, thanks to data analysis to reinforce strategic recommendations.
  • Works closely with the demand planner to forecast long-term strategies for product demand and size the prize.
  • Keeping abreast of consumer trends in the market via data sources and understanding of competitor landscape.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Hair/Beauty/Fashion/Luxury marketing or knowledge of Fashion and premium brand behaviour.
  • Exceptional P&L and Commercial acumen.
  • Deep understanding of category management and market dynamics.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to drive category performance.
  • Expertise in category management, pricing & promotional strategies, and retail optimization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple teams and external facing customers.
