Job Description
We are looking for an Accounts / Credit Control Assistant to fulfil a temporary contract with our client in Troon.
The successful Accounts / Credit control Assistant will become part of the finance team on a full-time, temporary basis, anticipated to last approximately six months. (with the possibility of extension). This role will be entirely office-based, and having your own transportation is necessary due to the location.
Key Responsibilities Include…
Accounts:
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations
- Analyse credit card transactions
- Assist management accountants with month-end closing procedures
- Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Support cost analysis and reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure general ledger integrity
- Undertake additional finance and accounting duties as required
Credit Control:
- Open new cash accounts in the company system
- Complete the full account application process (including obtaining credit reports, trade references, insurance, and setting up accounts in the company system)
- Address and log queries, updating the system accordingly, and forward to the relevant team for investigation
- Communicate with the Council regarding weekly spending
- Verify remittances
- Deposit cheques at the bank
Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in an accounts, finance, or credit control role (essential)
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident in using Excel and accounting systems (training will be provided as needed)
- Well-organised, proactive, and eager to learn
- Capable of collaborating effectively within a team and meeting deadlines
Contract term: 6 months with possibility of extension
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9am – 5pm & Friday, 9am – 4pm
