Accountant (AAT) (Permanent) in Kilmarnock

Job Description We are recruiting for a newly created role with our client, a growing accountancy firm in Kilmarnock. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced non-qualified Accountant, AAT Accountant or Accounts Senior to join their team.
This is a varied role where you will take ownership of your own portfolio of clients and play an important part in supporting their day-to-day accounting requirements.
The role would suit someone who has gained experience within an accountancy practice and is confident working with sole traders, limited companies and small businesses.
Preparing & reviewing accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients (limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders).
Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns, corporation tax, and personal tax returns.
Assisting with year-end accounts and general accounting requirement.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients on all matters related to accounting, tax, and financial planning.
General bookkeeping & payroll
A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.
Strong understanding of UK accounting and tax regulations.
Proficient with MS Office & various accounting / bookkeeping software (i.e. Sage, Sage Payroll, Xero Certified).
We're looking for someone with the right practical experience, commercial understanding and client-facing skills.
