b Overview /b p In this role you will develop and optimize manufacturing processes for optical systems in an AS9100 environment. You will lead cross-functional NPI efforts to deliver cost-effective, high-quality production solutions. You’ll drive process improvements, LEAN initiatives, and PFMEA-led quality enhancements, partnering across teams to enable scalable, reliable manufacturing. This is a hands-on engineering role that shapes how we manufacture advanced optical components for aerospace and defense. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Competitive salary based on experience /li li 26 days holiday plus bank holidays /li li Company pension (6% contribution) /li li Performance-based company bonus scheme /li li Health Cash Plan /li li 500 referral bonus for successful employee referrals /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment /li li Specify, support, and commission new manufacturing equipment (CAPEX) /li li Contribute to the NPI process with DFx input for new products /li li Evaluate and improve existing processes and workflows for efficiency and quality /li li Drive LEAN practices and continuous improvement initiatives /li li Lead PFMEA activities and capability/repeatability improvement projects /li li Manage testing and replacement of obsolete production consumables /li li Support best manufacturing practices across the G H Group /li li Deliver improvements in quality, cost, and efficiency while maintaining health and safety standards /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience /li li Experience in Manufacturing Engineering within an NPI environment /li li Proven leadership experience in multi-disciplinary teams /li li Strong problem-solving and results-oriented mindset /li li Flexible and resilient in a dynamic, agile environment /li li Attention to detail and quick learning of new skills /li li Proficiency in process mapping, PFMEA/control plan development, and tooling design /li li Experience with 3D CAD software and Microsoft Office applications /li li Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (DMAIC) /li li Desirable: awareness of glass machining, thin film coating, metal machining, and advanced manufacturing techniques /li /ul ul li leadership /li li problem-solving /li li results-oriented /li li 3D CAD software /li li PFMEA /li li control plan development /li /ul
