Due to continued growth, at G&H we are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to support and shape our people strategy. G&H is a world leader in optical designing, testing and manufacturing and works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. At G&H Torquay, we are one of a number of global technology leaders that form the Torbay Hi-Tech Cluster, bringing a concentration of expertise and innovation in photonics and microelectronics to the South Devon region.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior HR Business Partner at G&H:
Your role will focus on both strategic and operational Human Resources activities, supporting the current and future needs of the business. You will work closely with the General Manager and Site Management Team, providing HR Business Partnering support while leading key people initiatives across the organisation. You will also play an important role within the wider Global Human Resources function, ensuring regional and divisional policies and global HR Ways of Working are adopted and maintained across the site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention and employee engagement initiatives that support long-term workforce development.
- Drive organisational development, succession planning and career pathway programmes including apprenticeships, graduate development and leadership growth.
- Partner with senior leadership to deliver strategic Human Resources initiatives that support growth and organisational change.
- Manage employee relations matters and provide pragmatic Human Resources guidance aligned to legal and commercial requirements.
- Use analytics, KPI reporting and learning & development insights to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Support the wider Human Resources function through mentoring, policy implementation and promoting G&H values across the organisation.
Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent.
- Proven Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in talent development, learning & development or organisational development initiatives.
- Experience implementing career development programmes or workforce capability initiatives.
- Comfortable providing generalist HR support including employee relations.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at leadership level.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to think strategically.
- Experience coaching leaders and driving behavioural and cultural change.
- A proactive and ambitious mindset with a passion for developing people and capability.
