The New Product Introduction Engineer will work primarily within the NPI Team but will have key working relationships with the New Business, Production Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, QA/RA and R&D departments. This role requires a driven and flexible individual that can multitask, plan, schedule, manage time effectively and coordinate various tasks to tight time scales. You will need to be a verbally confident candidate capable of driving internal and external presentations using PowerPoint.
You will work closely with the New Business and Supply Chain teams to ensure the timely generation of quotations for potential new business, and work closely with the production engineering and production teams for introduction of new products when new business has been won. This shall include generation and maintenance of project plans, coordinating internal resource and problem solving effectively where required through to a state of business as usual within manufacturing. You will work closely with the QA team to generate Process Validation documentation as per the project plan requirements, these documents shall be to a satisfactory standard to pass ISO13485, FDA, MDR audits.
Mandatory Responsibilities- Adherence to all Company policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
- Provide Environmental commitment for site in order to maintain sustainability and progression to net zero.
- Working positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
- Promote and display the G&H values: Customer focus, Integrity, Action, Unity, Precision.
- Inspection and test of Products.
- Review Technical Packages provided by potential new customers.
- Carry out a Gap analysis on technical packages, providing written observations to the customer and New Business.
- Preparation of procurement package for quotation purposes.
- Supplier communication to gather raw material costs for quotation purposes.
- Providing labour estimates based on the package provided.
- Reverse engineer demo units provided for labour quotation purposes.
- Reverse engineer demo units to provide process improvement reports.
- Generate and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project.
- Use a 5-phase approach to manage a project from start to finish.
- Gate review at specified times throughout the 5-phase approach.
- Lead customer communications meetings and generate minutes.
- Process Validation and execution assistance.
- Willingness to travel to customer/supplier sites within the UK and internationally.
- Completion of output against target.
- Appraisals.
- Regular 1-1 meetings.
- Degree level in either mechanical or electronics engineering.
