We are seeking a results-driven Mechanical Construction Manager to join a leading M&E contractor in Central London. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of high-value mechanical packages on major projects up to £50m+, ensuring technical excellence across commercial, residential, data centres, healthcare, and life sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct on-site mechanical teams and sub-contractors to ensure all HVAC, plumbing, and piping installations meet project milestones.
- Lead the mechanical project programming and resource management to ensure materials and labour are aligned with the construction schedule.
- Act as the primary technical link between the site installation teams, design consultants, and senior management.
- Provide accurate, high-level updates on mechanical progress and proactively flag any potential commercial or program risks.
- Represent the mechanical package in daily site meetings with the Principal Contractor to ensure seamless multi-trade coordination.
- Drive the quality control process and lead the mechanical snagging/commissioning phases using BIM 360 for real-time tracking.
- Maintain the highest standards of Health and Safety on-site, ensuring all mechanical works strictly adhere to RAMS and current building regulations.
- Oversee the procurement and delivery of major mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring everything is on-site and ready for install.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive experience managing large-scale mechanical packages (£10m–£50m+) within a Tier 1 or leading M&E contractor environment.
- Deep knowledge of HVAC, domestic services, and fire protection systems, with a solid understanding of commissioning requirements.
- A natural leader who has progressed through the ranks and is comfortable managing large, multidisciplinary site teams.
- Must hold a valid SMSTS, Black CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work.
- Experience delivering complex mechanical services in specialist environments like Life Sciences, Data Centres, or Healthcare.
- A proactive individual looking for a fast-paced environment and a clear career path into Senior Project or Site Management.
