A rare opportunity has become available for an Electrical Design Engineer to join one of the region’s most successful and rapidly expanding Building Services contractors. Over the last three years, the business has continued to grow at an impressive rate, increasing both turnover and profitability whilst securing a strong pipeline of work with leading developers and principal contractors. With further expansion planned, they are now looking to strengthen their design team by appointing an additional Electrical Design Engineer.
The company delivers major residential and commercial developments, regularly working on projects with MEP packages of up to £40 million. This role would suit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who is confident working independently and is looking to join a business where there is genuine scope to progress as the company continues to grow. The successful individual will report directly into the Head of Design and will play a key role in the delivery of technically demanding projects from initial concept through to construction issue.
I would be interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within Building Services or an M&E contractor or consultancy.
- A track record of delivering major residential and/or commercial projects for leading developers and principal contractors.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
- Strong working knowledge of current Building Services regulations and industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Dialux.
- Experience producing electrical layouts, schematics, lighting calculations and technical design information.
- Confidence coordinating with consultants, site teams, subcontractors and other design disciplines.
- The ability to work across multiple projects and manage tight programmes and deadlines.
- A proactive attitude and a desire to progress within a growing and ambitious business.
In return, the company can offer a long-term career move with clear progression opportunities, direct support from the Head of Design and involvement in some of the most notable projects in the market. The position is permanent and, after an initial six-month period in the office, there will be the opportunity to work from home on a hybrid basis.
