A leading UK M&E contractor is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager to play a lead role in the delivery of a landmark project in the Leicestershire region. This critical services scheme, valued at over £150 million M&E, is being delivered in partnership with a Tier One main contractor and a blue-chip end user. With both shell & core and fit-out phases, this project presents an exciting long-term opportunity for the right candidate.

This is the largest and fastest-growing region of the business, with a projected increase of over £100 million in turnover in the next two years - making it the ideal time to join a well-established yet ambitious contractor.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Project Director and Regional Business Director, the Senior MEP Project Manager will have full autonomy over the delivery of this flagship scheme. This role is responsible for ensuring successful execution from pre-construction through to completion, managing all aspects of site delivery including labour, subcontractor management, health & safety, coordination, and programme.

We are open to candidates from either a mechanical or electrical background, whether from a major works delivery role or a contracts management position overseeing multiple smaller projects. A Tier One M&E contractor background is preferred to ensure familiarity with formal processes and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the MEP package on a high-profile project
  • Oversee the full construction programme including pre-con, design coordination, subcontractor management, quality, safety, and commercial tracking
  • Liaise with design consultants, BIM teams, and the client to ensure technical clarity and coordination
  • Manage site teams, specialist subcontractors, and labour across the mechanical or electrical package
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Director
  • Drive compliance with H&S policies, CDM regulations, and quality standards
  • Oversee commissioning and handover processes with internal and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

  • A proven MEP Project Manager or Contracts Manager with at least 3 years of project leadership experience
  • Mechanical or electrical bias, with the ability to manage full MEP scope
  • Strong background in either major projects or managing multiple smaller schemes
  • Previous experience with a Tier One M&E contractor is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and project delivery standards
  • Client-facing, commercially aware, and able to take full ownership of project outcomes
