We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and resilient female support worker with current MAPA training to provide high-quality care and support to vulnerable residents in a care home environment. This role involves promoting independence, ensuring safety, and managing challenging behaviours professionally and respectfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Support residents with daily activities and social engagement
  • Use MAPA techniques to safely manage behaviours that challenge
  • Assist with medication administration
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control protocols

Essential Requirements

  • Female (in accordance with Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 occupational requirement)
  • Valid and up-to-date MAPA or PMVA training
  • Previous experience working in care, ideally with challenging behaviour
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassionate, calm, and respectful manner

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Medication training
  • Experience in mental health or learning disabilities care
