We are seeking an experienced Senior Broker based in our Canary Wharf office, London to play a key role in expanding our UK and European Biomethane desk. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team at an exciting stage of growth, helping to develop liquidity in a niche and rapidly evolving environmental commodities market. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a growing desk and help drive the next phase of its development. The successful candidate will bring strong market experience, industry relationships and the commercial drive to help grow the business and strengthen our position in the renewable gas certificates market.
Responsibilities:- Broker transactions in UK and European Biomethane / Biogas markets
- Develop and maintain relationships with market participants including utilities, renewable gas producers, shipping maritime counterparts, traders and corporates/end users/industrials
- Contribute to the strategic growth and commercial development of the desk
- Expand the desk’s presence across the UK and European biomethane markets - FuelEU maritime, Transport, Bio-LNG opportunities
- Identify new trading opportunities within the renewable gas certificate and environmental commodities markets
- Source and match buyers and sellers to facilitate market liquidity and execute transactions
- Provide clients with market intelligence, pricing insight and regulatory updates
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth trade execution and settlement
- Proven experience in environmental commodities, energy markets, or renewable certificates
- Strong knowledge of Biomethane/Biogas market
- Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), or other commodity markets
- Existing relationships with utilities, renewable gas producers, maritime, energy trading houses or corporate/industrial end buyers
- Strong commercial and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to generate client flow and develop market opportunities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing broking environment
The role holder is expected to demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and regulatory awareness at all times. The individual will operate in full alignment with all relevant regulatory obligations, internal compliance frameworks, and desk-level procedures. This includes maintaining a strong understanding of applicable rules, adhering to internal policies, and ensuring all activities are conducted in a controlled, transparent, and compliant manner.
