The Orchard is a very special wedding venue in Maidstone, we are also pleased to host private events and corporate events at our Bearsted location.
The Orchard is regarded by many as one of the most outstanding wedding venues in Kent, situated in the heart of the Garden of England and nestled within the beautiful Kentish Countryside.
We are looking for experienced Bar and Front of House staff to join our busy team. Hours are flexible and paid hourly. Evening and weekend shifts are essential.
KEY DUTIES
- Events
- Working with all staff on the event day to ensure all aspects of the event day are continuing to run smoothly and efficiently.
- May be required to be responsible for the event set up alongside housekeepers and set up staff.
- In attendance as required by the nature of each event (At the discretion of the Supervisor and Day Duty Manager).
The role will be inclusive of morning, day and night shifts in line with business needs.
To show full flexibility on event days and acknowledge and accept that on occasion, should there be any issues on the day, you may be required to work longer hours to accommodate.
- To maintain an excellence standard of housekeeping throughout using daily checks and identifying maintenance issues
- Reporting any maintenance issues to the Day Duty Manager or Supervisor.
- To ensure tasks such as bar deep cleans, cellar cleans, BOH area in kitchen cleans/ painting and any general housekeeping or maintenance issues are dealt with.
- Health & Safety
- Responsible for noise management and all door & window policies are adhered to.
- Ensuring all working areas are clear and hazard free daily.
- Responsible if on duty for the security of the premises.
- Staff
- Mentor and support other staff members whilst on shift.
- To ensure every member of staff is fully supported with their training needs whilst in work.
- General
- Effectively dealing with and managing any till issues or discrepancies during events, ensuring staff are following correct protocol for reporting issues.
- To ensure all policies are adhered to, GDPR guidelines are adhered to.

PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Experience: 1+ years in the industry (training will be provided)
Due to the location of the venue, we require you to have your own transport.
For Bar work, you must be over 18, as you will be required to serve alcohol behind the bar.
