We are currently seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Boilermaker to join the Ardrossan mine, which is in a coastal town, so is a lifestyle option with a community town as opposed to a remote mining location. Key Responsibilities:
The maintenance crew at Ardrossan operations is responsible for a wide range of tasks across mobile equipment, fixed plant, and infrastructure.
Mobile Equipment Maintenance:
- Fault rectification and troubleshooting (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems)
- Minor and major servicing
- Component diagnosis, removal, and repair (e.g., engines, transmissions, differentials)
- Equipment includes: Trailers, Loaders (3.5T – 50T), Light trucks and dump trucks (3T – 50T), Grader and water truck, Down-hole drill rig
Fixed Crushing and Screening Plant Maintenance:
- Process flow understanding and optimization
- Servicing of oils, screens, conveyor components, crushers, bins, and infrastructure
- Fabrication and fitting of chutes, wear plates, and guarding to Australian Standards
- Conveyor maintenance (belt patching, tracking, idler replacement, gearbox/electric motor repair)
- Crusher inspections, repairs, and component rebuilding (cone and jaw crushers)
- Structural strengthening and replacement
- Use of specialized tools (oxy acetylene cutting, plasma cutting, welding, hydraulic pullers, air tools, etc.)
Building and Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Plumbing repairs and installations
- Cladding, roofing, and guttering maintenance
- Painting and trench digging
- Irrigation system management
- Environmental control (weed management, tree trimming)
You are safety & solution focused, have a continuous improvement mindset with a strong desire to succeed. Your background in industrial manufacturing or mining is beneficial for this role.
About You:
- Trade qualified - Welder / Boilermaker with Certificate III Engineering Fabrication or equivalent
- Crane, forklift, EWP, Dogging and Rigging operations
- Demonstrated heavy industry experience in fixed plant maintenance is highly regarded
- A strong safety focused attitude
- Hands-on experience using SAP is beneficial
