Vacancy Description
This is a mechanical engineering apprenticeship combining on-the-job training at our Robertsbridge site with off-the-job learning one day per week (term-time only) at Hastings College.
You’ll work alongside qualified tradespeople to develop hands-on mechanical skills and gain deep insight into the equipment and systems that keep our production running. As your training progresses, so will your responsibilities – and your potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the site\’s safety programme and working to Saint-Gobain’s zero-injury vision
- Attending off-the-job training and completing assessments to meet apprenticeship milestones
- Learning about and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Dismantling, assembling, and repairing mechanical components and equipment
- Supporting the plant’s preventative maintenance strategy
- Accurately completing documentation and entering data into our maintenance system
- Taking part in trials and continuous improvement activities
- Bringing new ideas to help improve our processes and reduce downtime
