Training to be Provided
The practical training period of the Early Years Educator apprenticeship is the time dedicated to the development of the knowledge, skills and behaviours which includes the following components:
- Early Years Educator KSBs
- Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship, including Paediatric first Aid Award as part of Apprenticeship
- Functional Skills maths and English Level 2 (exemptions apply)
Level 3 delivery model of course:
- This is weekly provision alternating between in-person attendance at Cambridge Campus and online attendance
- The full day college sessions are held on a Friday between 9.00am-4.00pm, during term-time. Attendance online is through a Teams session Friday between 9.00am to 12.30pm, the learners are then given independent study in the afternoon but expected back online at between 3.00pm – 4.00pm to feedback study topics
The apprentice would be assigned an assessor through the college, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence. The knowledge side would be provided via day release workshop attendance, assignments, evidence of workplace competence. Portfolio would be checked via an online Smart Assessor.
