Vacancy Description

  • Be the first point of contact for AV related issues or problems for staff and stakeholders at multiple sites across the University, providing technical support to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Manage, respond to and resolve AV system failures, notifying key stakeholders of the situation whilst liaising with external support and maintenance providers to provide a swift resolution. Put temporary solutions in place where appropriate to restore functionality.
  • Keep accurate and up to date logs for AV system faults, event bookings, asset registers and other required documentation.
  • With support from colleagues in the lecture capture service, configure the timetabling of recordings in the lecture capture system and support the use of Microsoft Teams in the supported spaces.
  • Work with University IT Services or contracted service providers to ensure the swift resolution of any issues relating to centrally supported services e.g. network/wireless provision, presentation laptops etc.
  • Ensure all equipment is stocked with supplies and maintained in accordance with agreed support arrangements.
  • Escort and orient contractors on site as required.
  • Participate in a regular staff appraisals and undertake any training identified.
