Team Purpose:

The Software Asset Management function is responsible for the management of SNOW Licence Manager, SNOW app store, software assets and licence management across the customer estate. The objective of the team is to provide accurate business intelligence for the customer who can then make informed decisions about the software assets in their estate. The team can also assist in compliance risk reduction and mitigation by the capture, updating and ongoing maintenance of the customer licence and proof of entitlement information.

Role Purpose:

The role of the Software Asset Analyst is to ensure the customer software assets are effectively managed and maintained within the licence management tool. That the customer software assets are managed effectively to help reduce or mitigate the financial or compliance risk. This role involves client interaction and may involve occasional business travel.

What to expect:

  • Responsible for management of end-to-end Software license compliance for major software publishers such as Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Adobe, Autodesk, Oracle, RedHat, Symantec, Veritas, Zerto etc.
  • Management of SNOW Software License management tool.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Software licensing rules, Global licensing Implications, software metering and methods to optimize utilization.
  • Responsible to advise on best ways to design the infrastructure of licensing methodology to optimize costs.
  • Publish periodic License Compliance reports for the customers and recommend customized solutions to optimize the structure.
  • Manage requests from End customers, Project managers, and Global procurement team for specific software asset management data and information.
  • Respond to and manage vendor software audit requests.
  • Conducting periodic internal deployment vs entitlement review, including the analysis of contractual, financial, and other documentation to understand the effective license position.
  • Periodically report and verify all software, versions & volumes installed on any infrastructure.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert on software licensing to support customer and internal requests for information related to licensing of software products.
  • Maintain the record of Proof of Licenses.
  • Proactively seek guidance from peers and seniors wherever required.
  • Collaborate with Global teams to leverage best practices in order to enhance the governance and compliance level.
  • Assist in SNOW deployments to new customers.
  • Maintenance of process and procedural documentation
  • Staying up to date with the big vendor licence management processes and techniques
  • Development and maintenance of customer specific dashboards (SNOWBoards)

What we expect from you:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software asset management domain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Good knowledge of major IT software publishers such as Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Symantec, Red Hat, Oracle, Adobe, Autodesk etc.
  • Good exposure to license contracts such as SPLA, CSP, VCPP, Enterprise, Volume Licensing, Cloud services, Hosting etc.
  • Good knowledge or exposure of SAM tools like SNOW, Altiris, Flexera, SCCM etc.
  • Experience in calculating license requirement on standalone as well as virtualized & cloud environments.
  • Ability to adhere to governance standards and processes
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. You must be able to work as part of a team.
  • IT knowledge (broad rather than deep) of IT systems and technology
  • Data Analysis Experience and strong understanding of Excel.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven customer support experience in a large global IT service support environment
  • Understand Service Now solution especially in relation to asset and configuration management.
  • An understanding of Service Level Agreements and their application
  • Experience and a strong understanding of ITIL incident, problem, and configuration management is preferred
  • Experience in software asset management would be beneficial
  • Excellent customer service skills and an ability to listen and understand the customer’s requirements including stakeholder management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
