Role Purpose:

The role is to proactively and reactively manage the network devices to support our customer and act on alarms from our customers monitoring systems. Troubleshoot & analyse incidents and changes, make suggestions to fix and implement the solution. Work as a full member of our customers team of 3 Engineers within the tools team within Ford. We are looking for an experienced Professional who is autonomous, experienced, self-driven security fanatics. You should possess excellent communication and team working skills and have confidence working on your own initiative.

What to expect:

  • Manages the ongoing management of Cisco environment, including LAN, WAN, and Wireless Environments.
  • Coordinates with networking vendors to ensure appropriate platform integration and performance.
  • Makes recommendations to Senior management on new technologies and products for enhancement of the network.
  • Tests, debugs and analyzes performance, and documents infrastructure components during and post Changes.
  • Monitors and analyzes network, and provides results on a adhoc basis.
  • Takes corrective action to improve network monitoring if required.
  • Responds to emergency situations and can perform effective troubleshooting during production outages for a on-call basis.
  • Assist in guiding, training, instructing and assisting others at peer or lower levels on technical issues and products to L1/L2 teams.
  • Analyse capacity management reports & propose improvements.
  • Prepare and execute Change requests.
  • Have knowledge of how to configure new devices.
  • Interact with multiple teams (Helpdesk, Customer, Service delivery Mgr).
  • Make technical advisory / designs for customer network migrations.
  • Make technical advisory to improve customer security environment.
  • Communicate & raise incidents to 3rd party (vendors).
  • Create and update documentation sets.
  • Propose improvement plans (technical & human activity).
  • Team presentations on your activities.
  • Propose improvements for our network management tools / Configuration.
  • Understand vendor product / solution evolutions.

What we expect from you:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Networking Field with Cisco vendor products.
  • Hands on experience to work in an ITIL structured organisation dealing with Incident / Change / Problem management.
  • Hands‑on NMS experience with tools like Netcool, SevOne or similar.
  • Strong working experience both deploying and managing large and complex majorly Cisco (Routing & SDWAN / Catalyst & Nexus Switching / Aironet Wireless / ASA/Firepower Firewall, PRIME, ISE) LAN, WAN, Wireless Environments.
  • Knowledge with supporting OSPF, BGP, VRRP and other routing protocols.
  • Knowledge with Wireshark or other protocol analyzers.
  • Packet capturing.
  • Configuring network & security devices with end to end security in mind.
  • Troubleshoot using traffic analysers, capacity management tools.
  • Participating in Team & Customer meetings.
  • Knowledge and skills on handling Wireless/Firewall/SDWAN, Cisco ACI as well as IT Enterprise Products.
  • Experience in Python scripting and Github CI/CD pipeline.

Qualification/Certification requirements:

  • Masters or graduate Technical certifications (at least one CCNP or CCIE badge is required).
  • Cisco CCIE Routing & Switching.

You will be required to work during European business hours from Monday to Friday however depending on the situation you might need to stretch as well on certain occasions and participate in on‑call rota.
