About the Company

Our client is a high-growth consumer technology and marketplace business headquartered in London, operating a platform that connects consumers with local service providers across home services, wellness, and care categories. Having established a dominant position in the UK with 2 million active users, they are now executing an ambitious European expansion strategy across France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. The Market Entry Director will lead this effort end to end.

The Role

As Market Entry Director, you will own the strategy and delivery of the company's European expansion, from market selection and entry strategy through to launch operations and early growth. You will build a small market entry team, work closely with the CEO and commercial leadership, and be personally accountable for establishing the business in at least two new markets within the first 12 months.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and own the European market entry strategy, including market sizing, competitive assessment, regulatory considerations, and entry sequencing.
  • Lead the go-to-market planning for each new market, including supply acquisition, marketing, pricing, and commercial model adaptation.
  • Build and manage the team needed to execute market launches, including local market managers and cross-functional support.
  • Establish the partnerships, regulatory approvals, and operational capabilities required to operate in new markets.
  • Track and report on market entry progress against key milestones, adapting strategy based on early results.

What We're Looking For

  • 10–14 years of experience in international expansion, market entry strategy, or a senior commercial leadership role with multi-market accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading successful market launches in Europe, ideally for a consumer or marketplace business.
  • Strategic and executional, equally comfortable developing a market thesis and getting hands-on with launch operations.
  • Strong leader with experience building and motivating cross-cultural teams.
  • Fluency in a second European language is an advantage.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of £140,000 – £170,000, depending on experience.
  • Significant performance bonus tied to market entry milestones.
  • Equity package in a high-growth business.
  • Private health cover, enhanced pension, and flexible working from London with frequent European travel.
