With revenues of over £1.5bn and a workforce of 5,000, the business is navigating a decisive shift toward digital and direct-to-consumer revenue and is investing in the senior strategic capability needed to lead that transition with clarity and speed.
The Role
As VP of Strategy, you will lead the most important strategic projects at the group level, helping the CSO and CEO navigate questions of portfolio composition, digital investment, geographic prioritisation, and new business model development. You will manage a team of senior strategy managers and be a visible, credible presence with the most senior leaders across the business.
What You'll Do
- Lead a portfolio of group-level strategic projects, from streaming growth strategy and IP monetisation to M&A evaluation and geographic exit or entry decisions.
- Own the annual group strategy process, coordinating inputs from business unit leads, synthesising a coherent group view, and producing Board-ready strategy materials.
- Develop the company's perspective on market dynamics, technology trends, and competitive positioning across its key content and distribution markets.
- Manage and develop a team of three to four senior strategy managers.
- Partner with Corporate Development, Finance, and Business Unit leads to translate strategic priorities into funded, executable plans.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting (top-tier strongly preferred) or a VP-level corporate strategy role, ideally with exposure to media, technology, or consumer sectors.
- Track record of leading complex, multi-workstream strategic projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial instincts and comfort with financial frameworks (M&A, investment cases, portfolio analysis).
- Excellent people leader, able to develop and retain high-performing strategy talent.
- Passion for media, content, or digital transformation is a genuine advantage.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of £150,000 – £185,000, depending on experience. Annual discretionary bonus with significant upside at this level. Long-term incentive plan linked to group performance. Private health cover, enhanced pension, and hybrid working from the London headquarters.
