The facility at Claire Hitch Racing are second to none. The stables are newly refurbished with excellent facilities, including Grass Gallops, a Fibresand School, Horsewalker, Water Treadmill, and Schooling Grounds. The yard also has access to all-weather gallops and a swimming pool just minutes away. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience working with horses and is ready to take the next step in their equine career.
Responsibilities
- Daily care and management of racehorses and riding horses
- Mucking out, grooming, feeding and tacking up
- Exercising and riding out (if confident)
- Assisting at the races and during transport
- Maintaining high standards of horse welfare, health and yard presentation
- Working as part of a small, professional team to support daily yard operations
- Working 5 days a week to include some weekends and bank holidays on a rota
- Accommodation is available onsite
Training
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
Qualifications
GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
Skills
- Some previous experience working with horses, and preferably racehorses.
- Ridden apprentice - must be a confident rider
- A team player able to communicate well with others
- Excellent time management
- Use of initiative
Prospects
Level 3 can progress to full time employment for the right person.
