Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing purchase and sales invoices
- Maintain accurate financial records within accounting systems
- Reconcile bank and company card statements under supervision
- Support coding of staff expenses and timesheets
Customer & Supplier Interaction
- Respond to billing queries via phone and email in a professional manner
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely invoice approvals and payments
- Assist with taking payments and issuing receipts
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance and Sales Administration teams to support smooth operations
- Attend weekly finance meetings to review priorities and progress
Learning & Development
- Participate in structured training (e.g. Excel, Power BI, report writing)
- Complete coursework and assessments as part of the apprenticeship programme
- Shadow senior team members to gain exposure to month-end processes and audit preparation
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. logistics/shipping) to broaden business understanding
Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
- Eligible and committed to completing a Finance/Accounting Apprenticeship (e.g. AAT)
Experience (Essential)
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role
Skills & Attributes (Essential)
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Professional and friendly communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
