As a Level 2 Accounting Apprentice, you will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with a friendly and supportive finance team. You will support day-to-day financial operations while working towards a nationally recognised accounting qualification alongside your on-the-job training.
About the Role
As part of the finance team, you will gain hands‑on experience in a busy finance function, supporting a range of accounting and administrative tasks. You will learn key accounting processes while developing valuable workplace skills through your formal apprenticeship training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing invoices, credit card receipts, and expense claims
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Help maintain accurate financial records and carry out data entry tasks
- Assist with bank reconciliations
- Respond to basic finance-related queries from colleagues or suppliers
- Help prepare financial reports and spreadsheets
- Ensure financial documents are filed, stored, and maintained correctly
- Comply with company policies, financial procedures, and data protection requirements
- Support the finance team with ad‑hoc tasks as required
- Potential to assist with month‑end reporting once fully trained
Training and Development
- Work towards a nationally recognised Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship (AAT).
- Receive on‑the‑job training and mentoring from experienced finance professionals.
- Attend off‑the‑job training as required by the apprenticeship provider.
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent in: English – Grade A‑C / 9‑4
