Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • To manage School Ready assessments for the 2‑3s adding new children as necessary.
  • Be committed to keeping the children safe and always behaving professionally.
  • Create a supportive, happy culture and a positive behaviour management strategy that enables children to achieve their potential.
  • To support the family‑centred ethos; we have created, supporting effective communication. As a member of the leadership team you may be required to act up for short times, completing training if required.
  • Risk assess and manage a safe learning environment across the whole nursery.
  • Notify ‘Maintenance’ of any issues or concerns regarding safety and the Director or anything needing immediate attention.
  • To work under the direction of the Director.
  • Plus other duties.

Requirements

  • Essential qualifications: GCSE in Maths and English (grade 4 to 9).
  • Other: EYE (grade Pass).
  • Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

About this employer

Our Forest School Nursery, for children aged 0–4, gives children the freedom to learn and grow through play in the great outdoors at whatever pace is best for them. Whatever the weather, children spend much of their day immersed in nature building, discovering, and developing independence. Indoors, our calm and nurturing spaces reflect the same values: child‑led learning, imagination, and care. The post requires working outdoors every day and appropriate clothing will be essential to be able to perform this role. The post requires a significant amount of activity, time on your feet and playing alongside children.
