We have an opportunity to join us at Eastleigh Borough Council in our Customer Support team as a Customer Support Apprentice. This role involves handling customer and councillor correspondence received by post, email or webform relating to most council services. You will then go on to administer and coordinate these enquiries in line with established procedures, keeping the customer or councillor informed appropriately along the way. This role is office-based and you will meet and greet customers at our reception desk at Eastleigh House. You will also support the administration team with post and print room duties.
You will use computer-based information systems for managing customer enquiries therefore proven IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly is essential in this role. Attention to detail and achieving high standards of work, together with good listening and communication skills, are also a must. This is a busy working environment so you will need to be resilient, adaptable and enjoy sharing your skills with our great team.
You will undertake the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. The delivery for the apprenticeship will be in the workplace/via Teams with Professional Coaches. Apprentices are supported with work-based assignments and create a portfolio of evidence for an end point assessment. At work, you will learn from and support experienced professionals who will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need to achieve the apprenticeship, as well as general workplace skills such as team working and customer service.
Training
Level 3 Business Administration standard.
This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated a tutor who will provide a mixture of interactive online group teaching and 1-1 training monthly.
4 GCSEs at grade C or 4/5 and above, including maths and English.

You will need to be organised with good IT skills and flexible to respond to changing work priorities.
