Responsibilities
- As a Civil Engineer apprentice, you will be placed on one of our many UK construction sites and be involved in the different site activities.
- You will be exposed to dimensional control of site works, understanding engineering requirements of a project, planning of site activities, and reading site documents such as drawings, specifications and standards.
- You will learn to be responsible for the daily control, management and coordination of construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and meet safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Your responsibilities will increase throughout the apprenticeship as your skills and technical knowledge develop.
Key Requirements
- Always observe health and safety regulations.
- Shadow project teams' senior staff members, ask questions and assist wherever possible.
- Participate in meetings, attend workshops and other training initiatives.
- Take notes and share findings with your supervisor and other stakeholders.
- Establish professional relationships with staff.
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism and diligence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Support and participate in process improvement activities.
- Write reports and provide information to management.
Additional Requirements
- GCSE Maths, English and a science subject at grade A or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable.
- Full clean UK driving licence may be required depending on site location.
Location and Travel
We are recruiting for apprenticeships across various projects in Cumbria, London area and the West Midlands. Due to the remote locations of some sites, applicants must be willing to travel as required.
