The apprentice will gain valuable hands‑on experience supporting canine physiotherapy treatments, assisting with the preparation of equipment, handling and caring for dogs, and helping to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.

Working Hours: 9:30am – 5:00pm, 3 days per week (days to be agreed with the learner) 30‑minute to 1‑hour lunch break depending on the daily schedule (typically between 12pm–1pm)

Training: All training will be provided on‑site during your paid working hours. Your day‑to‑day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in‑person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach. Level 2 Animal Care apprenticeship, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

Qualifications required: GCSE Level 4 / Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent. Contact Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved – must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English.

Skills required: Good communication. Love of animals. Work well in a team.

Prospects: Progression to the Level 3 Animal Care or other apprenticeship, and/or possibility of full‑time employment.

Qualification / Standard: ST0397 Animal care and welfare assistant.

Duration: 12 months.
