GetFix Ltd is looking for a skilled and reliable Domestic Gas & Oil Engineer to carry out responsive repairs, fault finding, servicing, and minor installations across domestic properties. This is a field-based role suited to an engineer who is confident working independently and comfortable dealing with customers in residential settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend emergency call-outs and perform diagnostics and repairs on domestic gas and oil-fired appliances (primarily boilers, fires, and heating systems).
  • Carry out annual servicing, landlord safety checks (CP12), and system maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve heating and hot water issues quickly and effectively.
  • Undertake minor installation works, including boiler swaps, pipework, and flue replacements.
  • Complete all required documentation including service reports, risk assessments, and Gas Safe certificates via mobile app or paper-based systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe and OFTEC regulations.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota (evenings/weekends).
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in a domestic heating service and maintenance role.
  • Current and valid ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
  • Valid OFTEC qualification(s) for domestic oil appliances and tanks (e.g., OFTEC 101/105E/600A).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good understanding of current Gas Safe, OFTEC, and building regulations.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Desirable

  • Unvented hot water (G3) qualification.
  • Experience with biomass or renewable heating systems.
  • Experience working in social housing or rural/domestic environments.
  • Basic plumbing/electrical skills.
