Role Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our reactive maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial gas systems across a variety of sites, ensuring safe and compliant operation at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend reactive breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on commercial gas appliances and systems.
- Perform scheduled planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks on commercial gas equipment.
- Install and commission new commercial gas plant and pipework when required.
- Ensure all work is completed to current Gas Safe and industry standards.
- Complete all relevant compliance documentation and job reports using handheld devices or paperwork.
- Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota and occasional weekend work as required.
- Liaise with clients and site staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure compliance with company H&S policies and RAMS.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar commercial gas engineering role.
- Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications (ACS): COCN1, CCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1 / TPCP1A.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Sound knowledge of current regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable:
- Additional Qualifications in LPG, Catering Gas, or Domestic Gas.
- Experience working in data centres, hospitals, schools, or other high-risk commercial environments.
- Awareness of basic building services systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, BMS).
