Their technology enables government bodies, public sector organisations, and large enterprises to improve operational resilience, enhance cybersecurity, detect threats, and maintain performance across increasingly complex IT environments.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced UK Account Manager Public Sector to develop and expand relationships across UK government and public sector organisations. This is a strategic, quota-carrying sales role focused on direct customer engagement, account development, and new business generation within a defined territory.
The Role
As the UK Account Manager Public Sector, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across a portfolio of public sector accounts while developing new opportunities within central government, local government, and associated public bodies. You will work closely with customers, channel partners, and technical teams to understand business challenges and position solutions that deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow a portfolio of UK public sector accounts.
- Develop strategic account plans and execute territory growth initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers, technical stakeholders, procurement teams, and operational leaders.
- Identify, qualify, and progress new business opportunities within existing and target accounts.
- Sell solutions focused on network visibility, cybersecurity, service assurance, observability, and performance management.
- Manage complex enterprise sales cycles from initial engagement through to contract award and closure.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline and deliver consistent forecasting accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with Sales Engineers and technical specialists to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Engage effectively with channel and strategic partners where required.
- Understand government procurement frameworks, buying cycles, and public sector procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with company sales methodologies, governance requirements, and ethical standards.
- Contribute to wider public sector growth strategies and market development initiatives.
About You
You are an experienced technology sales professional with a successful track record of selling enterprise networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or related technology solutions into UK public sector organisations.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise technology sales.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the IT, networking, cybersecurity, or infrastructure sector.
- Proven experience selling into UK Public Sector organisations, including: Central Government, Local Government, Public Sector Agencies, Emergency Services, Defence or National Security organisations.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and public sector buying cycles.
- Demonstrable record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing complex, high-value enterprise accounts.
- Strong pipeline generation and opportunity management skills.
- Ability to maintain approximately 4x quota pipeline coverage.
- Experience developing trusted relationships across executive, technical, procurement, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong new business development and territory expansion capabilities.
- Experience working alongside Sales Engineers, channel partners, and technical delivery teams.
