Truck Driver - General

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position.

Job sits at the High Wycombe Depot. This full‑time role involves transporting materials, equipment, and supplies between various locations to support business operations.

  • Operate heavy vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and supplies between various locations as required by business operations.
  • Ensure goods are collected and delivered safely, accurately, and within scheduled timeframes.
  • Load, unload, and secure cargo to ensure safe transportation and minimise the risk of damage.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical, maintenance, or safety issues.
  • Maintain vehicle logbooks, delivery records, and other transport-related documentation.
  • Follow road transport regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and company procedures at all times.
  • Communicate with supervisors, customers, suppliers, and other personnel regarding delivery schedules and operational requirements.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and arrange servicing or maintenance when required.
  • Assist with the movement and handling of materials and equipment to support daily operational activities.
  • Respond to changes in schedules, traffic conditions, and operational priorities to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or 1 year of experience in lieu of the qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to meet delivery deadlines and manage schedules efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing delivery requirements or road conditions.
  • Strong awareness of safety practices and road regulations.
