As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be at the forefront of clinical care, leading and managing patient treatment within the Male PICU service. Your key responsibilities will include:

Taking clinical responsibility for patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and helping to shape a therapeutic environment.

Providing expert psychiatric assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population, including those with complex mental health needs.

Leading patient care within your specialty, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, and fostering a recovery-oriented approach.

Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff, to develop holistic, person-centred care plans.

Engaging in clinical governance activities and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the service.

Participating in on-call rotations to ensure continuous, high-quality care and support for patients.

Developing strong relationships with external stakeholders and maintaining a professional network.

Ensuring full compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and hospital policies.

Committing to ongoing professional development and fulfilling Revalidation requirements.

Full GMC registration with specialist registration in psychiatry.

Extensive experience in Forensic Psychiatry, particularly in inpatient settings with patients presenting complex mental health conditions.

Strong knowledge of Clinical Governance and adherence to regulatory frameworks.

A CCST or CCT (or equivalent) in psychiatry, with proven experience in leading clinical teams and providing high-quality care.

The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate evidence-based practices into operational solutions.
