Hybrid WFH and Edinburgh Office

Would you like to take ownership of SEO, AI search visibility and website performance across two very different businesses, with the freedom to make improvements and see the commercial results of your work? Our client is a small group of companies operating in sportswear and Edinburgh guesthouse accommodation. They are bringing their SEO and website management in-house and looking for someone who enjoys combining digital strategy with hands-on delivery. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact, helping to grow online sales, increase direct accommodation bookings and develop the digital presence of two established businesses.

You'll work closely with a small team, have the opportunity to develop your skills across different areas of digital marketing and benefit from an attractive package, including a company profit-sharing bonus.

What you'll gain:

  • Competitive salary of £32,000 to £35,000 per annum.
  • An attractive company bonus scheme, with 25% of the sportswear company's net profits shared between employees.
  • Free gym membership worth up to £60 per month.
  • Complimentary entry to two running, cycling or fitness events each year.
  • Company pension scheme with employer contributions.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills across SEO, GEO, ecommerce, website management and digital marketing.
  • Real ownership of your work, with the opportunity to influence decisions and see measurable results.
  • The variety of working across two different industries within a small, supportive team.

The Opportunity

As SEO / GEO and Website Manager, you'll take responsibility for improving organic search visibility, website performance and conversion rates across both businesses. You'll develop and deliver a practical SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) strategy, while ensuring both websites remain accurate, reliable and easy to use. The goal is straightforward – attract more relevant visitors, turn that traffic into sales and enquiries, and help the accommodation business generate more direct bookings.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and delivering SEO and GEO plans that support business growth and seasonal opportunities.
  • Researching keywords, competitor activity and customer search behaviour to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Improving website content, including product pages, category pages, accommodation listings, landing pages and FAQs.
  • Optimising content and website information for traditional search engines and AI-powered search platforms.
  • Identifying and resolving technical SEO issues, working with external developers where necessary.
  • Managing website content and updates through the relevant CMS platforms.
  • Improving customer journeys, website navigation, calls to action, checkout processes and booking conversions.
  • Supporting local search visibility and maintaining accurate business and accommodation profiles.
  • Using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and SEO tools to track performance and identify improvements.
  • Reporting on organic traffic, conversions, website performance and commercial results.

You'll work alongside the Marketing Manager and external technical partners, helping to ensure that digital activity supports the wider business objectives.

What You'll Need

Our client is looking for someone with practical experience who can turn SEO knowledge into measurable improvements. Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Proven experience improving organic search performance, with examples of increased traffic, leads, sales or bookings.
  • Strong keyword research, on-page SEO and website content writing skills.
  • A good understanding of technical SEO, local search and website optimisation.
  • Practical experience using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs or Screaming Frog.
  • Experience managing website content using a CMS and working with developers or technical partners.
  • An understanding of website user experience and conversion optimisation.
  • A working knowledge of GEO and how AI-powered search is changing online discovery.

Experience in ecommerce, hospitality, sportswear or accommodation would be particularly useful, as would knowledge of WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Google Tag Manager, structured data or Core Web Vitals. As this is a small team, additional IT, website or technical skills would also be welcomed.

Make your next move count! If you're looking for a role where you can take real ownership of digital performance, broaden your experience and contribute directly to business growth, our client would love to hear from you.

Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 per annum plus company bonus.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Hybrid with a minimum of one day per week in the Edinburgh Office.

Application deadline: Thursday, 3 December 2026; Applications will be reviewed and interviews arranged as suitable candidates apply, so early applications are encouraged.

Start date: As soon as reasonably possible, allowing for your notice period.

To apply, click Apply Now. You'll be invited to complete a short online recruitment process, taking approximately 10 minutes, which includes a personality assessment. This helps both you and our client explore whether the opportunity could be a good mutual fit. There are no perfect answers, so please respond honestly.
