Our client is a well-established retail and distribution company dedicated to proactively developing and manufacturing innovative products aimed at enhancing independence and security for our older customers. Operating primarily in the rehab and gift markets, they pride themselves on a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
They are now seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to lead the sales efforts as a key member of a friendly team in Thatcham. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to play a vital role in maintaining and growing the trade sales function. The role will involve a blend of account management and new business development.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective sales strategies in collaboration with the Managing Director to achieve targets and drive growth.
- Maintain and nurture a portfolio of accounts, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction through regular engagement and support.
- Identify opportunities to maximise sales revenues within existing accounts.
- Generate leads and develop prospects, converting these with the backing of a dedicated admin team.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to estimate sales volumes for both new and existing products, including strategic product planning and launches.
- Proven track record of maximising sales and consistently exceeding targets in a trade sales environment.
- Self‐motivated with a natural sales ability and resilience to effectively handle rejection.
- Comfortable and confident in pursuing new business opportunities.
- Excellent telephone skills with the ability to engage face‐to‐face with customers when necessary.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel nationally to meet customers as part of the role.
- Product focused, shows an interest in the products being sold.
- You will be based at the Thatcham office. During the first 3 months of employment, you will undergo in‐house training to gain an in‐depth knowledge of the products, systems and customer base.
- Salary: Circa. £50,000 OTE + £300 p/m car allowance, depending on experience, acumen and interview performance. Paid by way of £35,000 basic and quarterly sales bonus.
- Hours: 0900-1730 or times as necessary as part of the sales function (Full Time).
- Benefits: Profit Share Scheme, Workplace Pensions and 20 days holiday.
