Shift Pattern: Saturday and Sunday, 9am – 5pm; Can be agreed as alternate weekends if preferred
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months
Salary: £14.99 per hour (rising to £15.51 per hour after a successful probation of 5 months)
Our client is an established provider of Sheltered Housing and Facilities Management Services. They are proud to provide high standards of service to older people across several care schemes in the Croydon area, with a strong reputation for delivering safe, comfortable, and supportive homes. The shifts available may suit either one person working every weekend, or two people job sharing the role on alternate weekends. They are looking for a dedicated and reliable Senior Carer who is passionate, professional and caring to be part of the Lindsay Court team.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Senior Carer you will be the responsible person to ensure that the objectives of the scheme are met as well as the operational and management policies are adhered to. You will be required to provide a supportive environment and ensure the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our client’s tenants.
Person Specifications
- A Care Certificate or willingness to work towards the qualification.
- Experience of working with the elderly in a senior position or the length of service that will qualify as a senior employee.
- Experience of working in a supported Housing or Residential Care environment.
- Experience managing or overseeing onsite buildings or property locations.
- Supervisory experience is an advantage, or the willingness to learn.
- Ability to deal calmly with emergencies.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- Computer competency is required.
Desired Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not required.
All applicants must have a genuine caring and sensitive personality and the ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy to caring for older people. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.
