Our client, a long-standing and reputable security systems integrator, is seeking a Technical Manager to join their London-based team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an employee-owned business with strong values and a commitment to innovation, compliance, and quality. As Technical Manager, you will set the technical benchmark across the business, overseeing all aspects of fire and security system design, compliance, installation, and commissioning.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Technical Manager will take ownership of all technical aspects of fire and security project delivery. Working across the full lifecycle—from design through to commissioning—you’ll provide expert input and oversight to ensure each project meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
You will act as the technical lead for clients, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring that all designs, installations, and documentation meet current UK regulations, British Standards, and client specifications.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing end-to-end technical oversight of fire and security projects, including design validation, installation guidance, and final commissioning
- Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Reviewing and approving system designs, CAD layouts, BIM models, and technical documentation
- Conducting site inspections to ensure installations meet regulatory and quality standards
- Leading technical input on tenders, proposals, and project bids, offering accurate and competitive guidance
- Ensuring all works are compliant with CDM 2015, Health & Safety legislation, and applicable British Standards (BS5839, BS7671, etc.)
- Producing and maintaining commissioning reports, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and associated documentation
- Supporting engineering teams with technical troubleshooting, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifying and resolving technical risks or issues throughout project delivery
- Working closely with project managers to align technical performance with commercial and delivery targets
