The predicted salary is between 35000 - 42000 £ per year.

£35,000 - £42,000 per annum (DOE) Full‑time, Permanent North Bristol, covering South Wales, M5 Corridor to Gloucester and Swindon

On‑call rota (1 in 4/5) for Service Engineers

20 days holiday plus bank holidays (increases to 22 & 25 days after 3 & 5 years’ service)

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Safety Small Works or Service Engineer which combines commissioning, small works, planned maintenance, fault finding and system modifications or servicing across a wide range of fire safety systems. Working autonomously, you'll manage your own workload and be responsible for delivering high quality service to customers while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The position offers a high degree of independence, with engineers trusted to manage their schedules and build strong customer relationships while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission, service, maintain and modify fire safety systems
  • Carry out small works and system upgrades
  • Attend reactive call‑outs and complete fault finding or servicing activities
  • Complete service documentation and reports in accordance with BS5839 and company procedures
  • Identify and report non‑compliances, remedial works and additional business opportunities
  • Support installation teams and other departments when required

Experience

  • FIA Foundation qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of BS5839
  • Proven fire alarm commissioning or servicing experience
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience modifying and configuring fire safety systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of workload and performance
